1928 – 1929
Architect: Otto Haesler
Nürnberger Straße 1–5, Karlsruhe
In 1928 architect Otto Haesler from Celle designed the entrance to the Dammerstocksiedlung as a multifunctional building with restaurant, adjacent rented flat, butcher’s shop, district heating plant, central laundry and three further flats with garages. Kurt Schwitters designed the typography on the gate house. The central heating and laundry building located next to the entrance to the Dammerstocksiedlung is now used as an architectural office. The original ventilation flaps have been preserved by additional interior windows.
